Dan Hessel is a founding partner of Golkow Hessel, LLC, having formerly served as a Shareholder and Practice Vice-Chairman at a national litigation firm. Dan's practice is limited exclusively to handling personal injury and subrogation lawsuits against negligent companies and individuals. He has successfully litigated cases against product manufacturers, transportation companies, contractors, property owners, security companies, and various other parties. Dan handles cases around the country, having handled cases in more than 15 states over the past few years. As lead trial counsel, Dan has had numerous seven figure and six figure verdicts and settlements. Many of these cases have been featured in journals such as The Legal Intelligencer, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Yahoo! Biz, New Jersey Verdict Reporter, Pennsylvania Damages, North Carolina Verdict Reporter, Pennsylvania Verdict Reporter and the Florida Verdict Reporter. Dan has spoken on issues related to all aspects of tort law on more than 30 occasions.

On multiple occasions, Dan has been recognized as a "Rising Star - Super Lawyer" in Philadelphia magazine. This award goes to less than 5% of all Pennsylvania attorneys under the age of 40, and is based upon ethics, experience and reputation. Dan is also a Life Member of the "Million Dollar Advocates Forum," an organization which is recognized as "the most prestigious group of trial attorneys in the United States." Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, awards and settlements. Dan is also a member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association.

Dan is an active member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals, better known as NASP, a national organization dedicated to the field of subrogation. Dan serves on the NASP New England Chapter Comittee, has been published in Subrogator magazine, and has spoken twice at the NASP national conference.

Dan prides himself on giving back to the community. He is a Member of the Board of Directors for the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, Inc., a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing free legal services to low-income persons with physical disabilities in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. In addition, Dan has represented a mayoral candidate in numerous election contests, and served as the official Treasurer for a Judge in Philadelphia County who successfully ran for re-election. Over the years, Dan has devoted hundreds of hours to pro bono clients, and received awards for his service on two occasions.

Originally from Reno, Nevada, Dan grew up in Southern New Jersey, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Law and Justice, with honors, at the College of New Jersey. While in college, Dan won the State Championship in a mock trial competition sponsored by the New Jersey Bar Association. Dan earned his law degree from William & Mary School of Law in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he earned membership on The William and Mary Law Review, the mock trial team and the moot court team. He is admitted to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, but is able to handle matters throughout the country on a pro hac vice basis.
